Keratoacanthoma?like squamous cell carcinoma successfully treated by the surgery combined with ALA?PDT

Keratoacanthoma-like squamous cell carcinoma (KA-like SCC) is a malignant classification of KA. We report here case surgical combined with 5-aminolevulinic acid-photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT) to treat KA-like SCC in an elderly male successful tumor removal. The resection was performed before ALA-PDT. One week later, the lesion site further treated 20% ALA for 3 h when it unknown whether resected entirely or not. irradiation 633 nm light-emitting diode lamp at 100 mW/cm2 200 J/cm2 after wiping off cream. Two sessions ALA-PDT were 2 weeks interval. month ALA-PDT, trace found have disappeared entirely, little scab, and cancer did not recur. After 1 year follow-up, there no recurrence. combination surgery may provide new idea treatment wide range patients.
